What a fantastic show this past Wednesday night at the Shoreline Amphitheater in Mountain View! I don't normally gush over performances, but the Foo Fighters put on one of the best, if not the best show I've seen this year. Opening act Gary Clark Jr. warmed up the crowd for about 30 minutes with his bluesy guitar rock before letting the band we were all there to see take over for what seemed to be a 'greatest hits' show that lasted nearly 2.5 hours!

At one point early into the Foo set, Dave commented to the audience about how extensive their catalog of music is. And that they try extremely hard to play as much of it as possible each night -- which they did -- but they also sprinkled the set with covers including Queen's "Under Pressure", teased the audience with the first bit of Kenny Loggins' "Footloose", and nearly closing the show with an *amazing* cover of Pink Floyd's "In the Flesh" -- which I've included below from the Jimmy Fallon show from a few years ago.

What showed through their entire performance was the fact that the band was having so much fun. Not only with each other, but with the audience as well. Dave's infectious banter with the crowd drew us all in even closer as we bonded with our favorite college cover band. And as Dave belted out screams and fierce riffs, he rotated between taking sips of Coors Light and throwing back a bottle of Champagne while he lounged in his iron guitar throne -- and all while chewing gum!!

If you can make it to only one concert this year, be sure you catch the Foo Fighters! You won't be disappointed!
